AutoCAD 2005 Sheet Set Manager:Renaming and Renumbering SheetsAuthor: Alireza Parsai
Sheets names are independent of drawing and layout names. You can assign any name to the sheets. You may also assign numbers to sheets. The sheet numbers are also independent of the file names so you can easily renumber and/or rename sheets regardless of the associated file names. The following tutorial shows you how to change the name and index number of sheets in a sheet set.
Notes: ► Click here for the table of contents. ► This tutorial is designed for AutoCAD 2005. ► In this tutorial user entries are in boldface. ► The ¿ symbol represents pressing Enter. ► Make sure to download the "scarborough_project.zip" file. Unzip the file to C:\.
1. Right-click the first sheet on the list. Select the Rename and Renumber option. Alter the sheet number to P1 and the Sheet name to Architectural Plan.
2. Click Next. Rename and Renumber the rest of sheets to refine the sheet list as shown in the following figure.
A good naming and numbering system can give you a better understanding of sheets and their relationship.
